STOCKTON, Calif. - The Saint Mary's Golf Team finished day one of the Visit Stockton Invitational hosted by the University of the Pacific in third place in the 15-team field by shooting 12-under par as a team.

Freshman Kristian Bressum is tied for first among the 89 golfers participating in the tournament after shooting a 65 on day one to finish 6-under par. Dylan VanderVeer and Ryan Hartanto are tied for fifth after each shot a 67 in round one to finish 4-under par.

Freshman Mitchell Hoey rounded out the group of Gaels who finished under par on day one as he shot a 70 to finish 1-under par. Bressum, Hartano, and Hoey each finished the day with six birdies and VanderVeer made five.

Three other Gaels are still in threatening range as Zack Missigman is just 1-over par with a 72, Jonathan Curran is 2-over with a 73, and Michael Slesinski is 3-over par after shooting a 74.
