GOLF | Gaels Hold Steady on Day Two in Stockton

STOCKTON, Calif. – The Saint Mary's Golf Team held steady for the most part on day two of the Visit Stockton Invitational hosted by the University of the Pacific.
Kristian Bressum remains near the top of the leader board, as he is in second place among 90 golfers and just three strokes out of the top spot. The Randers, Denmark native shot a 67 in round two to finish 4-under par on the day and 10-under combined on the tournament so far.
Mitchell Hoey shot up the leaderboard by shooting a 68 on day two, finishing 3-under par on the day and 4-under on the two days combined. He joins teammate Dylan VanderVeer in a tie for 16th as both are 4-under par for the tournament.
Hoey and Bressum are tied for the second-most birdies in the tournament with 12 each. Zack Missigman also made a big jump in the standings, climbing 20 spots after shooting a 67 on day two brining him to 3-under par for the tournament.
But the biggest jump belonged to Michael Slesinski who moved up 38 spots on the leaderboard. He had the second-best score of any golfer on day two with a 64 to finish 5-under par in the second round and is 2-under par for the tournament.
The Gaels dropped just one spot in the team standings and are currently fourth of 15 teams, shooting 7-under par as a team on day two and 21-under combined.
The start of day two was delayed a little over two hours due to weather conditions, but the forecast is favorable for round three which should lead to an on-time start and good playing conditions.
