STOCKTON, Calif. — The final road match of the 2021 indoor season is set for Saint Mary's Volleyball, and the Gaels come in as one of the hottest teams in the West Coast Conference. Winners of six of their last seven, the Gaels look to keep that momentum rolling into their Friday night contest with the Pacific Tigers, as the two Bay Area rivals cap of their season series in Stockton.

LAST TIME OUT
Saint Mary's closed out their last weekend of play by sweeping Loyola Marymount on Saturday afternoon, splitting the season series against the Lions. It marked the second-straight year the Gaels have picked up a win inside Gersten Pavilion, after having not won there since the 2012 season. It was also their first sweep of Loyola Marymount since October 29, 2009. On Saturday, the Gaels raced out to a 25-13 set one win and then survived a tight 25-23 set two victory before an easier 25-18 decision in the final set.
HAVE A MATCH, HAWLEY!
Gaels fans know what Hawley Harrer can bring to a match, as she has shown it in her two years in Moraga. But she was the most outstanding attacker on either side Saturday afternoon, leading all players in kills with 13, tying a season-best that she also put up against LMU in their first matchup. She had just one error in the match and a hitting percentage of .600, easily her best mark of the season. Harrer was not just strong but consistent throughout, recording at least four kills in every set.
ABOUT PACIFIC
As Saint Mary's has been on a roll, so too have the Tigers, winners of four of their last five. They did suffer a sweep at the hands of Pepperdine on Saturday, but had won four in a row prior. Pacific ends the season with their final four matches at home, setting themselves up for a strong finish. They have been a tough defensive team all season long, leading the WCC in digs per set, paced by Jadyn Tubbs and her 4.29 digs per set. Their attack hasn't been strong, with just a .159 hitting percentage this season, but they do have a strong number of players who can serve well, with six different Tigers recording at least 12 aces this year.
