MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's Women's Basketball team will play their home opener this Saturday, November 20 at 7:00 p.m. at University Credit Union Pavilion. It will be the first time the Gaels have played in front of their home crowd since February 29 of 2020, and the match up with the Western Michigan Broncos is the first ever meeting between the two programs.

ABOUT WESTERN MICHIGAN
The Broncos of Western Michigan have had winning records in five of their last seven seasons after going 6-15 overall in 2020-21. Head Coach Shane Clipfell is in his 10
th season as head coach of the Broncos and has a career record of 133-89.

Western Michigan plays in the Mid-American Conference and is 1-2 on the season, with a 95-68 victory at home over Kentucky State, a 70-62 loss at Purdue, and an 80-50 loss at USC.

They return the bulk of their scoring from last season, as senior Reilly Jacobson averaged 16.1 points per game last season, junior Sydney Shafer scored 14 points a game, and sophomore Taylor Williams averaged 12.3 points per game last year. Sophomore Lauren Ross was limited to only four games last year, but has started this season hot by averaging over 19 points per game.
