MORAGA, Calif. — With a busy week of both indoor and beach volleyball behind her, Hawley Harrer has been named the Bay Alarm Student-Athlete of the Week after her stellar performances on both the hardwood court and the beach court this past weekend.
 
Saint Mary's Volleyball was unbeaten this past week, going 2-0 inside UCU Pavilion with a sweep of Portland, and 2-0 in beach with wins over Oregon and San Francisco in straight sets. Harrer played a large role in both of those sweeps, starting with her efforts on Tuesday and Wednesday against Portland. Harrer was the Gaels leading attacker on Tuesday with 17 kills, a career-best that she has now set twice in the last two weeks. She also hit at nearly 32% in that match as the Gaels took down the Pilots in five sets. With the Gaels sweeping Portland on Wednesday, Harrer tallied 22 kills with just six errors, a solo block and ten digs.
 
On Friday and Saturday, Harrer was paired with Alexsa "Crash" Parker on the beach team as they took down their opponents from Oregon and USF. Harrer and Parker did not lose a set all weekend, sweeping Oregon and USF 2-0 both times while not allowing the other pair to score more than 12 points. It marked the beach debut at SMC for Harrer, and she was immediately slotted into the top pair with Parker on Friday, competing in the second slot on Saturday.
 
This marks the second win of the year for a Saint Mary's Volleyball player, with Chandler Cowell taking home the honors on February 1 after the first indoor matches of the season.
