ROW | Saint Mary’s Drops Races against Sacramento State
4/10/2021 5:32:00 PM | Women's Rowing
SACRAMENTO, Calif. — Saint Mary's Women's Rowing hit the water on Saturday with their second dual-style set of races this year, with Sacramento State being the opponent this time around. After scoring two wins to open the season, the Gaels ran the same lineups against the Hornets but wound up dropping all three races against Sacramento State.
Saturday marked the lone non-conference races the Gaels will run this season, and they were able to shave off time from two of their three races last weekend against Portland. In the varsity fours, the Gaels were over 35 seconds faster than they were in defeat against Portland. Their first varsity eight time was faster as well despite dropping the race to Sacramento State, improving by roughly four seconds.
Saint Mary's goes back into conference play for the final two races of the regular season as the Gaels will take on San Diego next weekend in Redwood Shores on Saturday, April 17. The next weekend, Saint Mary's will take on a pair of WCC foes in LMU and Santa Clara, with those races set to begin at 7:00 am on Saturday, April 24.
