MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's earned their first conference win of the season on Friday by knocking off the Dons (5-6, 0-3 WCC) by a 4-1 score. The Gaels improved to 4-10 with the victory and 1-2 in league play. It was just the third home match of the season for SMC who are now 2-1 in matches played at Korth Tennis Complex.

The Gaels secured the doubles point with wins on Courts 1 and 2. Damon Kesaris and Fabian Roensdorf got the team started with a quick 6-2 set before Saint Mary's top tandem of James Watt and Boris Reckow took down their opponents, 6-3.

Caelan Potts earned his first singles win of the spring in dominating 6-0, 6-4 fashion to put SMC up 2-0. After the Dons took a match on Court 4, Kesaris won his second match of the day in three sets (6-3, 1-6, 6-2) to put the Gaels one win away from taking the contest. Matis Bot ultimately finished the job for Saint Mary's with a come-from-behind 4-6, 6-3, 6-1 win on Court 3.

The Gaels have a quick turnaround as they host Santa Clara tomorrow at 2 p.m.
