LAST TIME OUT
The Gaels had trouble getting their offense going early on in game two of their Mountain-Time Zone swing, falling 91-56 to Montana State.
Â
The Bobcats jumped out to a 12-2 lead when the Gaels called a time out just over three minutes into the game. Saint Mary's didn't hit their first field goal until
Addison Wedin hit her second career college three pointer to break the drought with 1:39 to go in the opening quarter.
Â
Tayla Dalton would follow that up by hitting a three pointer on the Gaels' next two possessions to finish the quarter, and SMC had some offensive life going into the second.
Â
The Gaels then went on a 12-0 run early in the second quarter, capped by another Dalton three pointer to cut it to a 33-23 deficit with 6:34 to go in the half, but SMC was never able to trim it to single digits. It was the start to each half that proved the most trouble for the Gaels, while tying the second quarter and losing the fourth by just three.
Â
Dalton finished with a season-high 20 points on 6 of 10 shooting from downtown. It was a career high for
Addison Wedin with nine points on a 3 for 3 night from deep as well. Hanafin and Bamberger led the Gaels in rebounds with seven, and
Jade Kirisome led the team with seven assists.

ABOUT PACIFIC
Head Coach Bradley Davis ranks sixth all-time in program history in wins, bringing back 95% of his scoring from last season. The 2021-22 season story was close finishes, playing in six games, decided by five points or fewer.Â
Sophomore guard Anaya James leads the returners for the Tigers. James was a seven-time WCC Freshman of the Week. After last season, she was named to the WCC All-Freshman Team and was named All-WCC Honorable Mention. She led the team in points per game, averaging 13.6, 4.9 rebounds and 4.1 assists per game.
Â
She scored in double figures 21 times during the regular season and tallied a career-high 31 points against Oregon State on November 22. She recorded a double-double on November 17 against CSU Bakersfield with 20 points and 10 assists and recorded her first career triple-double on January 31 against Santa Clara with 13 points, 13 rebounds, and 10 assists
Sophomore center Elizabeth Elliott was a three-time WCC Freshman of the Week selection. She was named to the WCC All-Freshman Team. She was second on the team in averages with 12.7 points and 5.7 rebounds per game. She led the team in double-digit games with 23 and tallied a career-best 23 points against Saint Mary's on February 24. During the WCC Tournament opener against Santa Clara, Elliott had 15 points in 19 minutes.Â
Senior Sam Ashby showed flashes of brilliance last season, scoring 31 points against UNLV on 7-8 from three. She will look to stay healthy this season as a sharpshooter for the Tigers. Junior Liz Smith was one of three Tigers to average double-digits in scoring last season and should continue to see the lion's share of minutes.Â
