ROW | Saint Mary’s Shows Strong Start at Sacramento State Invite

FOLSOM, Calif. — The spring semester officially began on Saturday morning for Saint Mary's Women's Rowing as the Gaels competed in the Sacramento State Invite. Saint Mary's posted solid times in their first official competition of the semester, including snagging a win over a West Coast Conference rival in the process.
The Gaels had three boats in the water on Saturday morning, and their varsity eight lineup stole the show. They posted a time of 7:30 on the dot, and were six seconds faster than Santa Clara's varsity eight, putting the Gaels in fourth place overall. What's more, they came just a few boat lengths away from Portland, who finished in second place with a 7:14.6.
Other times for SMC on Saturday including their second varsity eight lineup, which finished in third place behind Sacramento State and Portland (7:49.7 time overall) and their varsity four lineup, which finished their race in 9:16.7.
