FOLSOM, Calif. — For the second week in a row, Saint Mary's Women's Rowing is heading to Lake Natoma for a Sacramento State hosted race. After taking part in the Sacramento State Invite last weekend, the Gaels will race in the Hornet Invite this weekend, their final competition for the month of March.
THE DETAILS
Hornet Invite
Saturday, March 19 at 8:45 am
Lake Natoma – Folsom, Calif.
LAST TIME OUT
The Gaels had three boats in the water last Saturday morning, and their varsity eight lineup stole the show. They posted a time of 7:30 on the dot, and were six seconds faster than Santa Clara's varsity eight, putting the Gaels in fourth place overall. What's more, they came just a few boat lengths away from Portland, who finished in second place with a 7:14.6.
THE OPPONENTS
Saint Mary's will be facing some different opponents than those they raced against last weekend on Lake Natoma. They will of course be competing against Sacramento State, but they will also face Kansas State and UC San Diego. This marks the first time Saint Mary's will see both teams this season, with Kansas State as a possibility when the Gaels head to Creighton to begin the month of April.
