PALO ALTO, Calif. - Senior Dylan VanderVeer and freshman Kristian Bressum both shot a 68 on day one of The Goodwin at the Stanford Golf Course to finish 2-under for the first round. Bressum finished three under on par fives on the day, good for third among 145 golfers.

The Gaels did finish even in par threes, which had them third overall. Michael Slesinski led the way at 2-under on par threes and Bressum was 1-under. SMC currently stands 19th of 28 teams with round two upcoming on day two.
