ABOUT SANTA CLARA
Santa Clara posted its second consecutive winning season in 2021-22 – the first time the Broncos had logged consecutive winning campaigns in 16 years. The Broncos have won at least 12 games in five of head coach Bill Carr's six years at the helm. They're looking to log their third straight winning season in 2022-23 for the first time in 20 years – since the program wrapped up a run of 13 straight winning years in 2002-03.
Â
The Broncos' regular season success has also shown through in the postseason the last two years. Santa Clara reached the West Coast Conference Tournament quarterfinals in 2022 with back-to-back wins in the first and second rounds. That came a year after they reached the semifinals in 2021.
Â
ABOUT USF
The Dons are coming off back-to-back appearances in the WNIT with a veteran roster, led by two-time All-WCC first team member
Ioanna Krimili and All-WCC second team member last season
Kennedy Dickie.
Â
Krimili is a two-time All-WCC first team recipient and led the league in points per game a season ago on the way to the Don's third place finish in the WCC. She became the school record holder for three pointers made earlier this season.
Â
Dickie is coming off an All-WCC second team selection as her scoring ability and tough defense was key to USF's conference play surge. She ed the Dons with 6.7 rebounds per game last year to go along with 9.1 PPG.
