SUNNYVALE, Calif. - The Gaels will be returning to Sunnyvale to compete at Santa Clara Friday, November 3rd.
LAST TIME OUT
The women are coming off of their highest finish and best team score in 32 years at the WCC Championships.
Rayna Stanziano and
Kaylee Barnes were named All-WCC Runners after finishing in seventh and eighth respectively, along with
Molly Dreher receiving All-WCC Honorable Mention, finishing in 13th.
Stanziano was the leader of the Gaels coming in with a time of 21:49.8, jumping four spots in the first split and remaining consistently in seventh place for the remainder of the race. Barnes finished with a time of 21:52.0, jumping 27 spots from first split to finish, allowing her to finish right behind Stanziano. Dreher jumped 23 spots throughout her race, giving her a finishing time of 22:02.0.
Cayden Hein took 22nd place for the men with a time of 25:43.0, jumping 22 spots from his first split.
Blaine Reynolds was the second Gael to finish for the men with a time of 26:13.6, where he made his final stretch between his last split and the finish line, jumping two spots to finish in 32nd place. Only three spots behind him was
Luke Bland in 35th with a time of 25:25.6, jumping 18 spots from beginning to end.
AT BAYLANDS PARK
For the women, six of the 10 all-time fastest times in Gaels history have happened at the Broncos course. Three of those times, belonging to Stanziano, Barnes, and Dreher, happened this season. This course put Barnes as the fastest Sophomore in SMC program history with a time of 20:54.6 earlier this year. The men also have five of 10 all-time fastest races in program history at Baylands Park, including Reynolds race time of 24:25 for the 8K this season.
