SACRAMENTO, Calif. - The Gaels will be one of 38 teams competing in the NCAA Division I Cross Country West Regionals on Friday November 10th in Sacramento at Arcade Creek Cross Country Course at Haggin Oaks Golf Course.
AT WCC …
Rayna Stanziano was the Gael leader at the West Coast Conference and finished in seventh with a time of 21:49.8. Right behind Stanziano was Sophomore
Kaylee Barnes in eighth place with a time of 21:52.0.
Molly Dreher jumped 23 spots throughout the race, finishing in 13th with a time of 22:02.0.
This was the first time since 1990 that the Gaels had three women in the top 13. It was the highest finish (3rd) and best team score (89) for the women in 32 years. Stanziano and Barnes were named All-WCC runners, while Dreher was named All-WCC Honorable Mention.
The men's top three finishers took up 22nd, 32nd, and 35th place.
Cayden Hein was the Gael in 22nd place with a time of 25:43.0 and behind him in 32nd place was the Junior Blane Reynolds with a time of 26:13.6. Three spots behind Reynolds was
Luke Bland finishing with a time of 25:25.6, jumping 18 spots from the beginning of the race to the end.
THE LINEUP
Competing at the NCAA West Region Championships for the women are the leaders at the West Coast Conference, Stanziano, Barnes, and Dreher, alongside

THE FIELD
The women will be competing in a 6K race at 10:00 a.m. where the course top 10 times range from 19:09.0 to 19:27.0. The men are competing in a 10K race at 11:00 a.m. with the top 10 times ranging from 19:28.5 to 29:44.1.
There are a total of 39 teams competing at the Haggin Oaks Golf Course. The 2023 Division I Cross Country Regionals are being held at different schools dependent on the region. The top two teams in each region will secure an automatic bid to the championships. The first four regional finishers, not from an automatic qualifier or at-large team, will also secure an auto-bid to the championships. Teams who do not secure an automatic bid will have to rely on the NCAA DI Cross Country Subcommittee to be one of the 13 at-large teams, where only two individuals from that at-large teams will be selected.
