GOLF | Gaels to Tee Off Season in Michigan

BARK RIVER, Mich. - The Gaels are traveling east to Michigan for their first tournament of the fall season where they will take part in The Island Resort Intercollegiate. The tournament is hosted by South Dakota State at the Sage Run Golf Club in Bark River, Mich.
The course, operated by the Potawatomi Indian Tribe, is a 7,300-yard challenge featuring sweeping views of the surrounding prairies and natural wetlands. Tournament play will take place over the holiday weekend from September 3-4. Illinois State University is returning this year as defending champions.
THE FIELD:
Competing alongside the Gaels are South Dakota State, Ohio, Bowling Green, Michigan, Boise State, Central Florida, North Texas, Coastal Carolina, Illinois State, and Miami (OH).
The team is very excited for this first event of the season considering their strong performance over this past summer. Some highlights included Mitchell Hoey competing in the US Amateur, Kristian Bressum in the British Amateur, James Watney competing in the US Junior Amateur, Zack Missigman in the Arizona Open, and Aidan Lee winning the SCGA Match Play among many other accomplishments.

Teams will play 54 total holes, with two rounds (36 holes) on Sunday, and one round (18 holes) on Monday. Tee times off holes No. 1 and No. 10 starting at 7:40am each day.
