FRESNO, Calif. – Saint Mary's Golf plays the first of back-to-back tournaments in California coming up on their schedule, starting with this week's Nick Watney Invitational hosted by Fresno State at the Fort Washington Country Club.
THE NICK WATNEY
The three-round tournament will have a shotgun start on Monday at 8:30 a.m. Fort Collins Country Club is a par-71, 6,729-yard course, and the teams will play 36 holes on Monday and 18 on Tuesday.
Last season Connor Reis had the top finish for the Gaels at 2-under par, good for 16th of 93 golfers. This will be Fresno State's 59th home tournament, which was originally titled the Fresno State Classic and renamed after Fresno State alumnus and PGA Tour star Nick Watney in 2014.
THE FIELD
The Gaels are part of a 14-team field that includes Cal Baptist, CSU Fullerton, CSUN, Gonzaga, Pacific, Sacramento State, Seattle University, Southern Utah, UC Irvine, UC Riverside, Utah State, Utah Valley, and host Fresno State.
