FRESNO, Calif. – Junior
Connor Reis shot a program-low 62 in round two of the Nick Watney Invitational hosted by Fresno State. It puts him in a tie for first out of 83 golfers, with the Gaels as a team in first place as well.
The Claremont, Calif. native missed par only once over the two rounds, and racked up 15 birdies to lead all golfers. His 62 edges out the 63s shot by Jonathan De Los Reyes, Mac McClung, and John Chirla, with De Los Reyes' being the most recent in 2014.
Reis is tied with Darien Zhao of UC Irvine for first, as both shot a 66 in round one and a 62 in round two to finish day one 9-under par. Reis is second overall in par threes, par fours, and par fives made.
Kristian Bressum is not far behind, as he is currently tied for fourth with a 68 in round one and a 66 in round two to finish the day 5-under par.
Mitchell Hoey is competing as an individual and is currently tied for eighth overall at 4-under par. Freshman
Jack Jerge rounds out the top 20 after two rounds, sitting at 2-under par.
Hoey and Bressum have each made eagles, with Hoey's coming in round one on hole 16 and Bressum's coming on hole 12 in round one. Bressum leads all golfers in par fives converted at 6-under and Hoey is tied with Reis at 5-under on par fives.
Jerge and Bressum each have two birdies through two rounds.
Aidan Lee and
James Watney each have 26 total pars made to round out the top 10 of the par leaderboard.
The Gaels as a whole are first by nine strokes, and are tops in par fours and fives made, along with making the second-most birdies of any team.

The Gaels are set to tee off round three at 8:30 a.m. to start round three.
