LAST TIME OUT
San Diego started off the game shooting 54.5% in the first quarter. The Gaels evened it out in the second quarter, going into the half only down by four points.

Coming out of the half, Zeryhia Aokuso dominated the third quarter for the Gaels. She went 9 of 10 from the free-throw line, drove to the basket, and her turnaround jumpers were unstoppable. She tied the game for the Gaels, followed by Tayla Dalton shooting in the paint with 3:22 to go with a 41-40 lead. The quarter ended with Ali Bamberger's layup and the Gaels up 50-43.

Saint Mary's took their first double-digit lead of the night with a Leia Hanafin pull-up jumper with 5:41 left to play. USD cut the lead back down to six at 62-56 with just over a minute to go. But with a little over 30 seconds to go to play, Hanafin forced a turnover and hit one of two free throws to put the lead back to eight. The Gaels defense forced San Diego to miss their next two three-point attempts and Bamberger hit another free throw to close out the Gaels 67-59 win.
