ROW | Gaels Have a Successful First Scrimmage with Cal Poly Humboldt
10/13/2024 3:17:00 PM | Women's Rowing
BRIONES RESERVOIR, Calif. -- Saint Mary's Rowing hosted Cal Poly Humboldt at Briones Reservoir on Saturday, and had a very strong showing in their first event of the Fall. It was a successful day of racing for all of the Gael boats that featured 3 8s and a 4 racing. The ability to race four boats showed the continual growth of the Saint Mary's Rowing program, now under the third year direction of Head Coach Brian Ebke.
About the day, Coach Ebke noted, "We had a great day racing a high quality team in Cal Poly Humboldt. All of our boats came off the water with some clear things to work on in the next few weeks, as well as some clear strengths we'd like to continue to execute well. This was a fun way to start our fall season - and a special kudos to the 7 athletes who completed their first ever rowing race today!"
The Gaels will be back on the water on October 26, taking part in the Head of the American event on Lake Natoma.
