CARLSBAD, Calif. - On Tuesday, December 17th, Saint Mary's men's golfer
Mitchell Hoey took home the San Diego Amateur individual title with a two-round score of 5-under-par. The senior out of De La Salle put together a final round of 69 (-3) that included five birdies, good for the second highest birdie total of the day. He bested Alexander Elia out of Vanguard by just one stroke and finished his two rounds with a combined eight birdies and just three bogeys. The San Diego Amateur title went down as Hoey's fourth amateur win of his career.
Joining Hoey in the amateur event were teammates
Inigo Izuzquiza and
Go Nakatsukasa. Izuzquiza finished 8-over-par good for 9th place while Nakatsukasa finished just one stroke behind him at 9-over. The full San Diego Amateur leaderboard can be found
