MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's College announced today a change in leadership of the volleyball program, as
Rob Browning will not return as head coach of the Gaels.
"We would like to thank
Rob Browning for his years of dedication to the College and student-athletes. At this time, we will be moving in a different direction regarding the leadership of our program," Vice President for Intercollegiate Athletics Mike Matoso said.
Browning finishes his career at Saint Mary's as the longest tenured coach in program history and finished with a 283-263 overall record and a 164-165 West Coast Conference record. In his 20 years leading the Gaels, Browning reached the NCAA Tournament five times.
"I've had the best job in the world for the past 20 years. I am extremely proud of what I have created and am so very proud of the current state of SMCVB, and I am excited for the future of Saint Mary's Volleyball. I am deeply grateful to have spent these years at Saint Mary's," Browning said.
A national search for a new head coach will begin immediately.
