DAVIS, Calif. - The Saint Mary's women's cross country team raced in the Stump Invite in Davis, where the Gaels sent a reduced team to compete and placed 5th.
The Stump Invite was a 5K race with redshirt/unattached runner,
Rayna Stanziano taking second place overall with a time of 17:15.8. Junior Hartnell College transfer,
Andrea Villegas was the top scoring runner with a time of 17:49.7, finishing in 10th.
Lauren Buckley secured the 25th spot with a new personal best of 18:39.7.
Anna Ranieri was the next SMC competitor to finish, clocking in at 19:05.5.
Kaitlin Laner also ran her best time, finishing at 19:28.7.
After the invite, Assistant Coach
Marc Kaiser stated "the Gaels battled well today! This is a good early season, fast race to set up for next week's West Coast conference preview at Pacific where we will bring our full varsity squad."
