Zane Jackson Stars in First Race as a Gael, Earn Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week

MORAGA, Calif. - For the first time in his Saint Mary's career, graduate student Zane Jackson, has won the Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week award for the 2024-2025 school year.
Zane Jackson helped lead the Gaels to take home second place at the USF Invite, after he crossed the finish line with a time of 24:46.1. At the 2K mark, Jackson was in 23rd place, but he jumped to 19th at the 4K split, 12th at the 6K, and eventually worked his way into the top-10, finishing in 10th overall. As a team, the second place finish for SMC was their best since they took home second place at the 2021 Pacific Invitational.
The graduate student moved 13 spots throughout the race, allowing him to finish only 30.1 second behind the race winner.
The Saint Mary's men's cross country team will be back in action on Friday September 20th to compete at the Pacific Invite located at Micke Grove Golf Course, Lodi.
