MORAGA, Calif. - Event number two of the fall season brings the Gaels to a familiar place in Bremerton, Washington. Saint Mary's and fellow WCC members competed at the Gold Mountain Golf Club in the 2024 conference championship. Saint Mary's will look back on some good memories that year as they finished in fourth place and advanced to the match play portion of the tournament before losing to eventual champions San Diego in the semifinals.
This year, head coach
Scott Hardy and his squad will look to improve upon their ninth place finish a season ago at the same event. The Gaels will have an advantage with some of their experience as
Aidan Lee and
Mitchell Hoey were members of that 2024 squad who competed at this course in the WCC Championship. The Gaels will roll with the same starting lineup this week as they did at the Island Resort Intercollegiate as well as individuals
James Williams,
Matthew Almajano and
Winston Shen.
This year's Tindall event will feature both a team and an individual event, with the field's individual golfers playing on the Cascade course while the teams will play their three rounds on the Olympic course.

LAST TIME OUT (5th place at Island Resort Intercollegiate)
Saint Mary's competed at the Island Resort Intercollegiate hosted by South Dakota State at the start of this month to kickoff their 2025 fall season. The Gaels got off to a quick start thanks to a 17-under second round to jump all the way up to third place. Contributing to the team's low scores was redshirt freshman
Sam Baumuller who made his collegiate debut in style, finishing 11-under-par over his three rounds.
Four-year veteran
Aidan Lee was the team's next best finisher at 7-under-par but Saint Mary's would fall to fifth place as a team after finishing just three-under in the final round.
Inigo Izuzquiza and
Aidan Lee were the only two golfers to finish in red figures to help salvage the top-five finish. With a familiar course though and standout performances from their opening event, the Gaels should be in a good position to make a push this week in Bremerton.
"We always look forward to going up to Washington and competing in UW's tournament", said Saint Mary's head coach
Scott Hardy. "Gold Mountain is a great facility with two golf courses. Our starting 5-man team will compete on the Olympic course against a strong and experienced field. We got off to a solid start at our first tournament in Michigan and I look forward to seeing the team keep that form with another strong showing this week".
"At the same time as the team tournament, three of our players will compete on the Cascade course with the rest of the individuals in the field. This is a great chance for our players to gain experience and get comfortable competing in college golf" (Hardy).
