MORAGA, Calif. — Utility player Roza Pešic will join the Saint Mary's women's water polo program, head coach Stephen Loomis announced on Tuesday.
Pešic, who is from Omiš, Croatia, brings extensive high level experience and accomplishments with her to Moraga. She spent seven years competing with VK Bura and most recently spent a season with ŽAVK Mladost.
As a member of the Croatian National Team throughout her athletic career, Pešic has represented her country in multiple major international events. Most recently, she helped her team to a sixth-place finish at the 2026 European Senior Championship in Portugal. In 2025, Pešic's team competed at the Senior World Championship in Singapore and the European Championship in Malta, taking home thirteenth and sixth place, respectively. The season prior, at the under-20 World Championship in Brazil her team snatched seventh.
Earlier in her career, Pešic contributed to her national team's eighth place finish at the 2023 European Championship in Turkey and eleventh place at the 2023 under-20 World Championship in Portugal. In 2022, she helped Croatia to seventh place in the 2022 under-16 World Championship in Greece and began her national team experience in the 2021 under-15 European Championship in Hungary.
Pešic's vast experience and versatility as utility player will be a valuable asset for the Gaels as they look to make an early impact in their inaugural season.
