

WWP | Gaels Welcome Canadian National Team Athlete Hannah Spence Ahead of Inaugural Season

MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's women's water polo team and head coach Stephen Loomis continue to prepare for the upcoming inaugural season as they welcome the newest addition to the program, utility player Hannah Spence from Edmonton, Alberta.
Spence arrives in Moraga with six years of water polo experience, including competing for the Canadian National Team in 2024, where she played in the under-16 World Water Polo Championships in Türkiye. Following the 2025 and 2026 seasons competing with her club team the Edmonton Tsunami, Spence received offensive player of the year, while in 2024 she received female athlete of the year and defensive player of the year.
With both her proven success and experience on the international level, Spence will look to be a key contributor during the Gaels first-ever season.
