MORAGA, Calif. — Head coach Stephen Loomis and the Saint Mary's women's water polo team have announced the newest addition to the team, transfer utility player Jada Ashen.
Ashen joins the Gaels after spending two years competing for Santa Barbara City College. While there, she tallied 78 goals, 26 assists, and 107 steals. Ashen was named a 2025 First-Team All-America as well as a First-Team All-Southern California Region and First-Team All-Western State Conference honoree. In 2024, she earned Second-Team All Southern California Region honors, Second-Team All-Western State Conference recognition, and was named to the 3C2A State Scholar Team. In both years, Santa Barbara made deep runs into the 3C2A postseason, falling in the State Championship match in 2024 for a second place overall finish, and finishing in third place in 2025.
Prior to her collegiate career, Ashen played four years of water polo at Rio Americano High School, leading the Raiders to four straight unbeaten Capital Athletic League seasons.
Ashen will look to make an immediate impact to the Gaels' lineup, bringing experience and success ahead of the inaugural season.
