SB | Odhi Vasquez Earns First WCC Pitcher of the Week Honor of Senior Year, Ninth of her Career

SAN BRUNO, Calif. — Coming off of an unbeaten week against Montana, Saint Mary's Softball's Odhi Vasquez has been named the West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Week. Vasquez has now captured the award for a ninth time in her career; once as a freshman, three times as a sophomore, four times as a junior, and now for her first time as a senior.
Vasquez pitched a pair of complete games in two of the Gaels' three wins over Montana this past week. The senior gave up just one earned run, while striking out 15 over 11 innings. In the series finale, Vasquez worked her second shutout of the season, and the 12th of her career, including eight strikeouts over five innings. She now leads the Gaels with an 8-2 record, an ERA of 2.49, a 1.22 WHIP, an opposing batting average of .208 and 57 strikeouts. She now ranks third in program history with 373 career Ks.
Vasquez and the Gaels will head to the Centennial State to play a single game against Colorado State in Fort Collins on Thursday and three games against Northern Colorado in Greeley, with a single game on Friday and a doubleheader on Saturday.
