WWP | Transfer Cate Daland Joins the Gaels Women’s Water Polo Program Ahead of Inaugural Season

MORAGA, Calif. — The Saint Mary's women's water polo program and head coach Stephen Loomis announced the most recent addition to the team, Cate Daland.
A utility player, Daland comes to the Gaels after spending two years at Santa Barbara City College. Over her time there, Daland has tallied 153 goals, 32 assists, 71 steals, and 68 exclusions drawn.
During her freshman season, her team put together the best record in 3C2A water polo, going 37-1. That same year, Daland earned an All-Western State Conference honorable mention nod.
During her sophomore year, she was recognized first team all-state and first team all-American, as her team won the 3C2A water polo state championships. Daland ranked tenth in the state with 97 goals scored that season.
Daland joins the growing Gaels roster, bringing both experience and success to make an impact on the Saint Mary's women's water polo team's first season of competition.
