WWP | Transfer Olivia Sanchez Join Saint Mary’s Women’s Water Polo as Newest Addition

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's women's water polo welcomed their newest addition to the program, transfer attacker Olivia Sanchez.
Sanchez comes to the Gaels after spending two seasons at Diablo Valley College in nearby Pleasant Hill. Over her time there, Sanchez tallied 30 goals and 20 assists. During her sophomore season, she served as a co-captain and helped lead her team to its first 3C2A State Championship appearance since 2015.
While competing at Liberty High School in Brentwood, Sanchez's team won two Bay Valley Athletic League and had three North Coast Section Division 1 postseason appearances. Following the 2022 season, she was invited to compete in the North Coast Section All-Star Game and earned USA Water Polo All-American recognition, while also being named to the Bay Valley Athletic League first Team. Throughout her high school career, Sanchez tallied 87 goals, 54 assists, and 141 career points.
Sanchez joins a growing roster of four transfers and former teammate at Diablo Valley, Brianna Smyth. She will look to bring leadership and success in the Gaels inaugural season.
