SB | Gaels Close Out Season Ranked Third in the Softball America Mid-Major Power Rankings

MERCER ISLAND, Wash. — After recording its first two NCAA Tournament victories in program history, the Saint Mary's softball team finished out the 2026 campaign ranked third in Softball America's final Mid-Major Power Rankings of the season. The Gaels checked in just behind Grand Canyon and South Florida, who, like the Gaels, both also made it to their Regional Finals.
The Gaels began receiving attention from Softball America in the Mid-Major Power Rankings following their 3-1 weekend at the Stanford Round Robin, that featured a trio of ranked wins. Saint Mary's appeared at 14th in that poll, then climbed to 13th after its sweep of San Diego. After their strong performance at Regionals, however, the Gaels catapulted up 10 spots to earn the number three spot at season's end. Here's a look at the full poll:
