

MWP | Saint Mary’s Men’s Water Polo Adds Left-Handed Attacker Nicholas Valente

MORAGA, Calif. — Saint Mary's men's water polo team continues to build its roster ahead of its inaugural season as they welcome incoming freshman Nicholas Valente out of Commerce, California just south of Los Angeles .
Valente spent his high school career competing for Mater Dei High School as a left-handed attacker. While there, he earned second team All-Trinity League honors in both the sophomore and senior seasons, while also earning second team All-CIF and the Monarch Sportsmanship Award his senior year. During the 2022 campaign, Valente received an All-American Honorable Mention nod, along with a National Team Selection. While competing for the Monarchs, his team was widely recognized as one of the top-20 prep water polo programs in the country.
Valente will look to contribute his proven success as he joins the Gaels ahead of the first season in program history.
