ATLANTA — Coming off of his fifth and best season in the NBA thus far, former Saint Mary's Gael standout Jock Landale has inked a one year deal, keeping him with the Atlanta Hawks in the 2026-27 season. Landale was traded to the Hawks a season ago after beginning his fifth NBA season with the Memphis Grizzlies. In 68 games with Memphis and Atlanta, Landale averaged a career best 10.6 PPG and 5.7 RPG, while shooting 51.5% from the field.
A 2018 graduate of Saint Mary's Landale was twice named a first team All-WCC honoree and twice an All-American, earning WCC Player of the Year honors as a senior. After going undrafted in 2018, the Melbourne, Australia native spent a pair of seasons in Europe and one back home in Australia playing professionally before getting his first shot in the NBA in 2021 for the San Antonio Spurs. Since his debut in 2021, Landale has appeared in 289 games for the Spurs, Phoenix Suns, Houston Rockets, Memphis Grizzlies and Atlanta Hawks. On February 15, 2024, Landale became the fourth ever Saint Mary's men's basketball player to have his number retired, as his No. 34 hangs alongside Tom Meschery's No. 31, Patty Mills' No. 13 and Matthew Dellavedova's No. 4 inside University Credit Union Pavilion.
Congratulations to Jock and wishing him nothing but continued success this season with the Atlanta Hawks.
