HARRIS, Mich. - The Saint Mary's golf team put together the third best team round on the golf course today at Sage Run Golf Club, recording a final round of seven-under-par to move into a tie for fourth place to conclude the 2026 Island Resort Intercollegiate.
The Gaels had all four counting scores finish the day in red figures, including tournament lows from Inigo Izuzquiza and Hudson Vedder. Izuzquiza, who was a member of the Gaels' 2026 NCAA Regional team, recorded a team high six birdies in his final round to shoot three-under-par and move into the top-35 individually. After transferring over from Central Michigan, Vedder also put together a relatively clean round, with just two bogeys and four birdies, to shoot a final round 70 (-2).
Landon Abalateo and Trey Tuyo each carded a 71 to round out the four counting scores for the Gaels. Abalateo put together three solid rounds to finish his first collegiate tournament at one-under-par, while Tuyo's 71 (-1) was good for his low round of the week. Redshirt sophomore Sam Baumuller was tied for the tournament lead at 11-under on Sunday, but failed to crack red figures with a final round of 72 (E) on Monday. The three-year Gael still finished tied for third, which would go down as his best collegiate finish, while his 11-under tournament score would tie his career low after finishing 11-under-par at this very same event back in 2025.
Saint Mary's has now finished inside the top five in its last four appearances at the Island Resort Intercollegiate dating back to 2023.
