MORAGA, Calif. — Filippo Zattarin has been named the Muscle Milk Student-Athlete of the Week for the week of Oct. 15-21 after scoring the game-winning goal against Santa Clara over the weekend.

The No. 4 Gaels and Broncos went into overtime on Sunday as their hard fought match produced a 1-1 score after 90 minutes of play. Roughly halfway through the first overtime period, David Brog dribbled towards the SCU goal and drew a penalty just outside the box on the right-hand side.

Zattarin then teed up the set piece and curled a perfect shot into the left upper 90 to give the Gaels a dramatic victory and maintain the team’s perfect 14-0 record. The goal was the sophomore defender’s second of the season and third of his career.

Saint Mary’s returns to the field this weekend on two-game road trip to Southern California. The Gaels will take on San Diego on Friday at 7 p.m. before playing Loyola Marymount on Sunday at 2 p.m. Further information and links to the game can be found on the Gaels’ schedule page.
