The Saint Mary's men's golf team has been on a bit of a heater as of late, recording top-three finishes in back-to-back events including a second place finish at their very own fall invitational last week. Senior golfer Mitchell Hoey carded a final round 67 (-5) to jump into a tie for third place individually, being named this week's Shamrock Office Solutions Student-Athlete of the Week.

Hoey was just one-over-par over his first two rounds at the Saint Mary's Invitational last week at Bayonet Golf Club but jumped 19 spots thanks to a team low 67 (-5) on the final day. Hoey bogeyed the second hole of his round but shot the final 16 holes at six-under including a birdie on the par-five 18th to finish five-under. His round helped lock up second place for the Gaels as they combined to shoot 11-under-par for the lowest team round of the week.
