Women's soccer fifth-year senior Savannah Schwarze led the Gaels to a 4-0 home victory over Fresno State this past weekend with three assists in the contest alone. Schwarze is no stranger to the award, as last season she was also named the first Student-Athlete of the Week of the 2025-26 athletic year after an impressive performance and goal in a 2-2 home draw with CSUN.

Schwarze's three assists now brings her career total to 19, tied for third all-time in program history along with Lucianne Crenshaw. The fifth-year senior now sits at 73 matches played and is on pace to break the program record of 80 matches played for the Gaels later this season. Schwarze returned to the Gaels after a stellar 2025 campaign in which she started all 17 games she appeared in, recording a team-high five assists and earning All-West Region, All-WCC Second Team and WCC All-Academic Team Honorable Mention selections.
