Jordan Harris and Lene Mari Hovda are this week’s Co-Bay Alarm Student Athletes of the week after their impressive performances in SMC’s 5-2 victory over Nevada on Saturday.
The fifth year and senior led the Gaels to a comfortable victory over the Wolfpack to open their spring season.
The SMC duo were all business in their double’s matchup Saturday morning as they faced off against Nevada’s Wiem Boubaker and Amahée Charrier.
Harris and Hovda got off to a quick start, establishing their serves and keeping the Wolfpack players at arm’s length. It didn’t take long for Gaels pairing to get going, as they hit their stride and never looked back, winning the match 6-3.
On the single’s side, Harris and Hovda continued their strong play. Harris was practically flawless, besting Nevada’s Mariana Campino 6-1, 6-1. Hovda was no slouch either, beating Amahée Charrier 6-3, 6-3.
