STOCKTON, Calif. — The Saint Mary's women's tennis team opened West Coast Conference play with a thrilling 4-3 road win over Pacific on Sunday afternoon.
Saint Mary's dropped the doubles points in straight sets, but battled back with a strong showing in singles play to secure the win and all four points.
Junior Elif Tuana Gunal won her match in straight sets, earning her third singles win of the season. Sydney Wilson, Madison Weekley, and Sophie Stanton contributed to the team's momentum with straight set wins of their own. With the performances, Weekley now improves to a team high seven dual wins on the season, while Wilson now has four and Stanton with two.
