Belmont, CA - The Saint Mary's women's cross country team put in a good performance this past weekend, placing fourth out of six teams at the Bronco Invitational at Crystal Springs in Belmont, CA. Gonzaga, a team that surprised both Saint Mary's and Santa Clara with their depth, finished in the top spot.
The Gaels were once again led by freshman Allegra Porter, who has yet to lose to a conference opponent this season. Porter placed second overall with a time of 18:50, her second race this season with a sub-20 minute time. Strada Morris was the next best Gael finisher in 18th place in 20:39, followed by Ashley Viens, 28th in 20:59, Megan Gebhardt, 30th in 21:14, Bethany DeMore, 34th in 21:28, Danielle St. Clair, 45th in 23:03, Mary Kuczkowski, 51st in 24:36, and Veronica Soto, 52nd in 25:16.
The Gaels will take a week off as they prepare for the West Coast Conference Championships on Saturday, October 28, at Crystal Springs in Belmont, CA.
