Moraga, CA (April 5) - The Saint Mary's women's tennis team (6-13) lost a heartbreaker to the Spartans of San Jose State on Tuesday. The Gaels fell by the final score of 4-3. The Gaels won the doubles point, yet lost 4 of 6 in singles matches.
The Gaels battled to a 4-3 loss on Tuesday. The women's tennis team lost 4 of 6 in singles play, which clinched the match for San Jose State. Individual winners for the Gaels were, in the no. 2 spot, Karen Holland def. Anna Nordell; 7-5, 6-2. In the no. 3 spot, Annie Wolford def. Caroline Stenman; 6-3, 6-0. Doubles winners for the Gaels were, in the no. 2 spot, Fillol/Holland def. Nordell/Van; 8-3. Weston/Herndon Ortega def. Stenman/Silverstone; 8-6
The women's tennis team will be in action next, the weekend of April 7-9, at the WCC Championships in Moraga.
