
Men's Tennis Cruises Past Cossacks, 6-1

Moraga, CA - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team (3-3) defeated the Sonoma State Cossacks, 6-1, in a tennis match on Wednesday at the Tim Korth Tennis Complex. The Gaels lost just two points on the day, dropping both the number-one singles and doubles matches.
Saint Mary's Boris Vallejo lost the singles match 6-4 and 7-5, in the closest match of the day. The Gaels would sweep the remaining five singles matches, dropping just 10 points in those matches, to lead 5-1 heading into the doubles matches. Arturo Planell and Richard Thomson were defeated, 8-6, in the number-one doubles but the final two doubles partners for Saint Mary's secured the doubles point with individual victories of 8-4 at number-two and 8-3 at number-three.
The Saint Mary's men's tennis team will return to the court on Saturday, March 10 when it hosts the University of Nevada-Reno at 9:00 a.m. at the Timothy Korth Tennis Complex.
