RENO, Nev. - The Saint Mary's men's tennis team dropped its midweek non-conference match to Nevada on Tuesday, 6-1.
The Gaels dropped the doubles point in competitive matches, including a tiebreaker win for Bastien Maxant and Francisco Duran, who defeated Nevada's Remy Tregoures/Greg Valente 7-6 (7-5). With the win, the duo climbed above .500 as a team, improving to 5-4 on the season. The Wolf Pack would clinch the other two doubles matches for the point, and then go on to win five of the six singles matches for the 6-1 victory.
The lone singles win for the Gaels came from true freshman Juan Pedro Etchecoin, who defeated Nevada's Remy Tregoures 7-5 7-6 (7-3). Etchecoin won his team leading seventh singles match of the season, bringing his season record to 7-6.
