
Volleyball Falls to Pepperdine, Splits Road Trip

Malibu, CA - The Saint Mary's volleyball team dropped a tough 3-0 match to Pepperdine on Saturday afternoon in Malibu, CA, but return from their road trip to Southern California with a 1-1 mark.
The Gaels beat Loyola Marymount 3-2 on Thursday night to earn the road split and are now 3-2 in West Coast Conference play and 8-8 overall. Saint Mary's returns to McKeon Pavilion on Thursday, October 19 when it faces Portland at 7:05 p.m.
Against the Waves, the Gaels were led by Christina Kirk and Missie Stidham, who each had 12 kills. Stidham added 11 digs for a double-double and Kirk had six digs.
Mandy Bible had 34 assists, nine digs and four blocks and Taylor Groess added nine kills.
As a team the Gaels hit .130 and recorded eight blocks. Pepperdine hit .272 and had 12 blocks in three games.
Brittany Barker added six kills and five blocks in the front row and Cassandra Kolkka had 12 digs as libero.
