Men's Golf Signs Nick Sako To Letter of Intent

Moraga, CA – Saint Mary's head men's golf coach Scott Hardy announced that Nick Sako (Menlo Park, CA) has signed a National Letter of Intent to compete for the Gaels beginning next season. Sako is currently in his senior season at Menlo Atherton High School.
Sako carried a 2008 tournament stroke average of 73.8 in 53 rounds. He is currently ranked fourth in the Junior Golf Association of Northern California (JGANC) and is ranked No. 279 nationally by the Junior Golf Scoreboard. He had a number of quality amateur finishes in 2008, as he finished first in the NCGA/JGANC Northern California Players Championship, had a quarterfinal finish at the San Francisco City Championship, and finished 11th at the Alameda Commuters Tournament.
During his high school career at Menlo Atherton HS, Sako is a four-year varsity letterwinner in golf. He is a three-time Peninsula Athletic League First Team selection and was the PAL Individual Champion in 2007. He is also a two-time PAL Golfer of the Year and was named to San Mateo County Golfer of the Year in 2006, following his sophomore season.
