Honolulu, HI - The Saint Mary's softball team dropped their final game of the Bank of Hawaii Invitational, as they lost 6-1 to Colorado State. The Gaels currently hold a 12-14 overall record, going 2-4 when playing in Honolulu, with their two wins coming over No. 17 Hawaii.
Against the Colorado State Rams Saint Mary's was unable to find an offensive rhythm, only recording three hits and one run in the game. Bronwyn Russell, Molly Bergeson, and Chelsea Loftis each recorded a hit, while Bergeson was the only Gael to cross home plate.
Saint Mary's hurlers, Megan Galloway and Maryanne Cronin could not subdue the Ram's bats, allowing 10 hits and four earned runs combined. Colorado State's, Penland, started and finished in the circle for the Rams, earning her fourth win of the season while striking out eight Gael batters.
The Gaels return to action on March 29 against San Jose State in double header at Cottrell Field starting at 12:00 PM.
