SB | Vasquez Signs Second Pro Contract of the Summer, Bound for New Taipei City

NEW TAIPEI CITY, Taiwan — After finishing out her illustrious collegiate career with the Gaels in May, Odhi Vasquez has now inked her second pro contract of the Summer, as she will be headed to New Taipei City to compete for the Caesar Park Warriors. Vasquez began her Summer with the Bravas de Cidra in Puerto Rico, and now will take her talents to Asia.
Vasquez's resume of accolades reads like a laundry list for the Gaels' softball program. A two-time West Coast Conference Pitcher of the Year, Vasquez holds the program records for career wins (52), single-season wins (21), single-season saves (7) and consecutive scoreless innings pitched (23.2), while owning the second most strikeouts in program history (471) and the third most shutouts (14) in program history. In her four years with the Gaels, Vasquez led her squad to three WCC Titles, two NCAA tournament berths and their first ever trip to the regional finals.
In her first taste of pro softball in Puerto Rico, Vasquez was dominant, leading the Liga Premier de Softbol Feminino (LPSF) in wins (8), while finishing second in strikeouts (64) and fifth in ERA (1.88). Vasquez played a major role in leading the Bravas de Cidra to the LPSF Semifinals. Vasquez will look to continue where she left off for her new squad, the Caesar Park Warriors.
The New Taipei City Caesar Park Warriors are an original member of the Taiwan Professional Women's Softball League (TPWSL), founded in 2016. The team has won the TPWSL in 2018, and has been runners up three times. Notable former players include former Florida Gator standout Kelly Barnhill and 2018 TPWSL MVP Veronika Pecková.
