Freshman (2009): Appeared in 45 games and started in 38 competitions...finished the season with a .252 batting average, compiling 26 hits, nine runs and 16 RBI...extra base hits included two doubles and two homeruns...finished with a .326 slugging percentage and .358 on base percentage...posted four multi-hit and three multi-RBI games...recorded her first career hit against New Mexico State (2/12/09) in the Troy Cox Classic, going 1-for-1 against the Aggies...tagged her first homerun against Central Connecticut (3/21/09) at Cottrell Field...second homerun of the season came in the Gaels' first conference game against Loyola Marymount (4/4/09).
High School: Katelyn comes to Saint Mary's by way of Pleasanton, CA where she attended Foothill High School...was a seven-time letterman for the Falcons, lettering all four years in softball and three years in basketball...her senior year she hit .325 with 21 RBI and seven homeruns, she also posted a .987 fielding percentage...helped lead the Falcons to three East Bay Athletic League Championships in 2005, 2007 and 2008...she was named team captain her senior year, and was the 2008 female athlete of the year...she was a two time First Team All-EBAL honoree, as well as two-time All-East Bay honoree, she was an All-State nomination in 2007 and 2008...she was recruited by Humboldt State, Sonoma State, and Holy Names...she chose Saint Mary's because of its beautiful atmosphere, its proximity to home, and the academics...she plans on majoring in Liberal and Civic Studies.
