Before Saint Mary's: West attended Cleveland High School and competed with Portland City United Soccer Club. West was a three-sport student-athlete while at Cleveland, lettering in soccer, swimming and track and field. She won district titles in swimming and track, and was also a 5A Portland Interscholastic League First Team All-League Goalkeeper and Soccer Player of the Year in 2013. As a senior, she recorded 73 saves in 14 games with a .78 Goals Against Average and six shutouts.
