MSOC | No. 6 Saint Mary's Hosts Dons on Saturday

The Gaels return to Moraga for their first home conference match of the season tomorrow at 3 p.m.

MORAGA, Calif. — No. 6 Saint Mary's will host their first home conference match of the season as the Gaels welcome the San Francisco Dons on Saturday. Kickoff is set for 3 p.m. and links for live stats and the live stream can be found on the Gaels' schedule page.

Following their 4-0 routing over Pacific last Sunday, Saint Mary's jumped from No. 9 to No. 6 in the national coaches' polls and will look to maintain their perfect 12-0 record this weekend against the Dons. The Gaels remain as the only team in the nation with a perfect record and are one of three unbeaten teams.

Forward Jake Rudel earned his second WCC Player of the Week honor this week after scoring twice against the Tigers and is top-10 in the nation in goals scored with 10. Rudel has scored the most goals in a single-season since Michael Clegg tallied 13 in 2005.

In goal, Remi Prieur has started all 12 matches for the Gaels and leads the nation in both shutouts (9) and save percentage (.895). The redshirt junior is just one win away from setting Saint Mary's all-time record for wins by a goalkeeper.

ABOUT THE DONS
San Francisco (3-7-1, 1-0 WCC) enters play Saturday fresh off a 2-1 win over San Diego to begin their conference schedule. Prior to their victory over the Toreros, the Dons had dropped seven straight matches and are 1-4 on the road this year.

USF has allowed over two goals per game in 2018 and surrendering over 15 shots on average.

The Dons' offense is led by Santiago Digiuseppe who has a team-best seven points (three goals, one assist) while Sean Bowman has taken the lion's share of shots with 31 of the team's 116. Ruben Stuiver has started 10 matches for USF in goal and has 42 saves and a 3-6 record thus far. Stuiver also owns the lone shutout of the year for the Dons.

San Francisco holds the all-time edge against the Gaels at 29-16-5 since 1978 but in their last six meetings, Saint Mary's is 4-2 against the Dons. USF managed to take down the Gaels 4-2 last season in San Francisco.
